Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Complete Review - Camera, Battery, Design 2026

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is finally here, and I've been using it for the past week.  Let me explain exactly why you should pay attention to this flagship phone and whether or not it is worth the high price. Camera System: The Real Game-Changer

The S25 Ultra's camera setup is truly stunning. Samsung packed a 200MP main sensor, and you can immediately tell the difference from previous models.  The shots come out incredibly sharp, even when you're zooming in.  The 50MP ultra-wide lens lets you see more of the scene, which is great for landscape and small-space photography. The telephoto system is where things get interesting.  With its 5x optical zoom, the 10MP periscope lens lets you get closer to your subject without losing quality. I tested this at a local cricket match, and the players on the far end of the field looked crystal clear on the screen.  The 3x optical zoom is also excellent for everyday photography.

Night photography has improved significantly.  The sensor is larger, and the night mode processing is smarter.  In contrast to my expectations, the pictures I took at a restaurant in low light turned out brighter and had more detail. There's less noise, which is impressive for a phone camera.

Video recording is solid too.  You can shoot in 8K, though that eats up storage fast.  The 4K footage is smooth and stable, even when you're walking.  The new stabilization algorithm works really well.

 Display Quality

The 6.9-inch AMOLED display is absolutely gorgeous.  The colors pop, blacks are deep, and the contrast is excellent.  Samsung finally increased the brightness to 3000 nits peak, which means you can see the screen clearly even in bright sunlight.  This is a real upgrade if you spend a lot of time outdoors.

The 120Hz refresh rate is smooth.  Scrolling through social media, apps, and websites feels buttery smooth.  Games run without any stuttering.  Once you experience 120Hz, going back to 60Hz feels slow.

 Performance and Speed

The Snapdragon 8 Elite processor inside the S25 Ultra is incredibly fast.  Apps open instantly.  Multitasking is seamless.  I jumped between Chrome tabs, YouTube, and games without any lag.  The 12GB of RAM ensures everything runs smoothly even with lots of apps open.

Gaming performance is exceptional.  I tested several demanding games like Genshin Impact and Call of Duty Mobile.  Both ran at high settings with 60fps without any frame drops.  The phone stayed cool throughout, which is important for sustained gaming.

 Battery Life

The 5000mAh battery easily gets me through a full day of heavy use.  I'm talking video calls, social media, gaming, and constant photography.  By evening, I still have about 20-25% battery remaining.  If you're a moderate user, you'll likely end the day with 30-40%.

The 45W fast charging is quick, but not the fastest in the market.  From zero to 50% takes about 30 minutes.  Full charge takes around 50 minutes.  Wireless charging is available at 15W, which is decent for overnight charging.

 Design and Build Quality

This phone has a high-end feel. The aluminum frame is solid, and the matte finish on the back doesn't attract fingerprints.  It's also more durable-feeling compared to glossy phones.  The weight is noticeable at around 220 grams, but not uncomfortably heavy.

The Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the front protects the screen from scratches and drops.  I dropped it on a tile floor from waist height, and while my heart stopped, the phone came out unscratched.  The flat edges look modern, but they do make the phone less comfortable to hold for long periods.  A case is practically essential.

 Software Experience

One UI 7 is smooth and intuitive.  Samsung's customizations on top of Android are useful without being overwhelming.  The bloatware is minimal compared to previous versions.  Most Google apps work seamlessly, and there are no random lag issues.

The AI features are interesting but not revolutionary.  AI summaries in the notification panel are helpful, and the smart reply suggestions actually work.  Nothing groundbreaking, but nice additions.

 Practical Considerations

The S25 Ultra costs around PKR 350,000 in Pakistan, which is substantial.  You're paying premium prices for a premium device.  Is it worth it?  If you care about camera quality, display, and overall performance, yes.  If you just need a basic smartphone, absolutely not.

Water resistance is IP68 rated, which means it can survive submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes.  Real-world durability is solid.

The phone comes with no charger in the box, which is disappointing at this price point.  You'll need to buy one separately or use an existing USB-C charger.

 My Honest Verdict

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is an excellent flagship phone.  The camera system delivers professional-quality photos, the display is stunning, and performance is flawless.  It's not perfect – the lack of charger in the box is annoying, and the design could be more comfortable – but overall, it's a solid upgrade if you're coming from an older model.

If you're a photography enthusiast or someone who uses their phone for heavy tasks, this phone is worth considering.  For average users, the Galaxy S25 or S25+ offer better value.

 Rating: 4.5/5 stars
